THE BEST TIME TO VISIT ST LUCIA

Similar to it’s Caribbean cousins, the Weather In St Lucia is typically tropical, hot and totally rejuvenating. It’s location as an Easterly island means that it benefits from North-East trade winds and cooling sea breezes, meaning that the hot weather is bearable and very enjoyable. St Lucia’s iconic Twin Pitons and mountainous landscape mean that the island does generally experience more moisture than the flatter limestone islands such as Barbados or Antigua.

SEASONS & CLIMATE

There are two main seasons on the island of St Lucia: Dry and Rainy.

  • The Dry Season runs from December to May, and coincides with the islands ‘Peak Season’. This entails higher costs for accommodation, more limited availability with island attractions, restaurant reservations and excursions. However, the weather is incredible and the climate extremely enjoyable. EXPECT: blue skies, warm days and cooling breezes.
  • The Rainy Season runs from June to November, and subsequently brings with it the ‘off-peak season’ where accommodation costs are considerably lower and there is a calmer atmosphere on-island. During the Rainy Season, the average temperature on-island is slightly higher, and along with the rain, makes the climate more humid. The interior rain forests experience more rainfall than the coastal resorts during these months, although our villas in the Cap Estate benefit from a drier, cooler atmosphere despite being inland.
EXPECT: heavy, sporadic showers that are short-lived and pleasantly refreshing.
