As one of the world’s most popular tropical retreats for weary travellers and those looking to shrug off their stresses and strains, the Caribbean has become internationally accessible and now boasts fantastic infrastructure whilst maintaining the eclectic charm it is famous for. Daily flights from the UK, US and Canada to many of the major ‘gateway’ islands via popular Caribbean airlines, have enabled many of the smaller countries such as the spectacular British Virgin Islands to be just a small Inter-Caribbean flight away.
Whilst some services are seasonal and are dependant on the operator of choice, there are many direct daily flights to choose from, to ensure your luxury visit to the Caribbean is as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Many of our Canadian guests are often surprised by the frequency and breadth of flights that are available to the Caribbean. The three main airlines as outlined below cover a wide range of islands between them and offer direct flights to the ‘gateways’ of the Caribbean. ISLAND HOPPING IN THE CARIBBEAN
Connecting the dots is relatively easy during your Caribbean adventure, and is thoroughly recommended as there is just so much to see and do! An extensive selection of inter-island ferries, charter flights, Caribbean airlines and yachts mean that island hopping is effortless. However, to make your trip is as smooth as possible we advise some serious planning if you intend on packing your itinerary with more than one country.
We recommend starting at one of the ‘gateway’ islands and working your way from there. As you’ll see below there are a wealth of direct flights to Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua then a whole host of small charter flights available to stray off the beaten track. With most guests limited to a 10 day/2 week visit to the Caribbean, we suggest trying to stick to island groups that are close together if you plan on island hopping e.g. The British Virgin Islands or The Grenadines/Grenada.
The expert teams at LIAT and Caribbean Airlines run inter-island routes for those looking to explore more of the Caribbean, and a typical journey from one country to the next averages at less than an hour.
